1. What is Bitshopee?
The demand for ever-growing crypto users to pay directly with crypto is tremendous, while the place of purchase where they can spend crypto is limited.
To address this problem, Bitshopee comes into play.
Bitshopee is a platform that serves as the bridge between cryptocurrency and e-commerce to allow you to shop with crypto on major e-commerce sites, providing you with a simple shopping experience the way you shop on e-commerce sites as usual.
With Bitshopee, you can use crypto to buy whatever you want on our supported e-commerce sites anytime and anywhere, no longer need to convert crypto to fiat through exchanges anymore, avoiding the high cost and threshold of fiat on/off ramp, potential taxes and KYC restrictions.
2. How does Bitshopee work?
There are three roles in Bitshopee system: Shopper (the one who spends crypto to shop), Payer (the one who pays the e-commerce order with fiat on behalf of the shopper and get crypto from the shopper), Bitshopee SmartContract (an interchange to receive&release crypto and make sure the transactions are carried out safely ).
First off, to shop online with crypto via Bitshopee, shoppers need to own a non-custodial wallet like MetaMask.
Shoppers need to add Bitshopee extention to their browsers, so that when they place orders on e-commerce sites, they will see the payment method of “pay in crypto” at payment gateway.
After placing the order, the shopper will be redirected to Bitshopee cashier to select a payer to pay the order with fiat on behalf of him.
Next, shoppers are required to transfer the crypto to Bitshopee SmartContract first, then Bitshopee will notify the payer to complete the order payment with fiat.
Once the order payment is confirmed by the shopper, the crypto will be released to the payer, and the shopper just needs to wait for the items to be delivered.
3. What ecommerce sits does Bitshopee support?
Currently Bitshopee shoppers can shop on Amazon.in. More major ecommerce sites in Southeast Asia will be supported soon.
4. What blockchains and assests are available on Bitshopee?
Bitshopee has been deployed on BSC, HECO,and Polygon, and shoppers can shop with BUSD, USDT, etc. We plan to integrate with exchange wallet and deploy on some other EVM compatible chains in the coming months.
